In CAMPEONEX, we reunite with the iconic protagonists of the first installment: Jesús Vidal, Gloria Ramos, Sergio Olmos, Jesús Lago Solís, José de Luna, Fran Fuentes, Alberto Nieto, Roberto Chinchilla, and Stefan López, who are now joined by new additions that will make a lot of noise.
Campeones became the cinematic event of 2018, winning numerous awards including 3 Goya Awards, including Best Picture, attracting 3.5 million viewers to theaters and grossing nearly 20 million euros in the more than sixteen months it remained in theaters.
Fesser, winner of 7 Goya Awards and nominated for the Oscars from the Academy of Hollywood, co-writes the new script alongside Athenea Mata, the actress who played the character of Sonia in the first installment. David Marqués, co-author of the first film, also collaborated on the script.
Luis Manso for Películas Pendelton and Alvaro Longoria for Morena Films are the producers of the film, and this time Rey de Babia AIE also joins. CAMPEONEX has the participation of Movistar Plus+ and RTVE, and the sponsorship of Movistar.
Universal Pictures International Spain will once again be responsible for the theatrical release on August 18, as it was with Campeones.
