The University of Las Palmas Foundation imparted a talk at the IES Vega de San Mateo. On December 9th, the University of Las Palmas Foundation (FULP) was in charge of giving a talk about university life and studies for the students at IES Vega de San Mateo. This educational institution in Gran Canaria is dedicated to helping students from all backgrounds access higher education and therefore strengthen their knowledge, skills and career opportunities.
The talk was conducted by professionals from FULP and was delivered to all students from the center’s senior school. After the talk, students had a dynamic debate and discussion about their thoughts, reflections and feedback on the talk, and the importance of obtaining higher education and the welcome support that FULP offers to the younger generations of Gran Canaria.
One of the topics covered was mental health and the challenge of adapting to change in times of crisis. Experts from FULP, as well as teachers and other professionals, touched on subjects such as resilience and self-care, both important tools in dealing with the present pandemic.
The initiative seeks to promote the values of equal opportunities, entrepreneurship and employment, as well as the promotion of scientific culture, in the diverse student population at IES Vega de San Mateo. It seeks to increase social awareness and provide support to those students at risk of exclusion in terms of access to quality higher education.
The talk was positive and inspiring, as students engaged in this way with university life, knowing that at FULP there are people willing to help on their way to a better future.
