García Pimienta, en conexión telemática desde el hotel de concentración del equipo en Alicante, comenzó anunciando que “plantearemos el partido con algunas novedades. Va a ser muy exigente y con un rival de una categoría superior a la del Teruel. Al ponernos esta camiseta nos debemos al club y a su afición. Si ganamos nos tocará un Primera División en enero y merece la pena hacer el esfuerzo. Aunque solicitamos poder adelantar un día el partido, nuestra estancia nos está viniendo bien para concentrarnos y dar lo mejor”. En consonancia, dijo: «Con el Barça B me enfrenté a La Nucía y es un equipo muy peligroso. Se asocian bien, salen a la contra, llevan buenos resultados y será un encuentro de una exigencia máxima. No sabemos qué pasará, pues a equipos de Primera División les cuesta ganar a equipos de Segunda RFEF”.
Preguntado por su futuro contractual: “Aquí estoy a las mil maravillas. Estoy muy contento con el club, con la afición… y me gustaría estar mucho tiempo. Los resultados dirán y ahora solo nos centramos en el presente. Habrá tiempo para todo”.
En cuanto a futbolistas se refiere: «No es momento de hablar de altas o de bajas. Todavía no hay mercado y yo estoy encantado con mis jugadores. Si viene alguien será para mejorar. Kirian sería una gran noticia y nos alegraríamos todos. A partir de enero nos sentaremos para perfilar el final de temporada”.
Para terminar, añadió: «La actitud mañana debe ser como la de cualquier partido oficial. Algún chico del filial va a debutar, seremos fieles a nuestra idea y estaremos preparados para todo lo que pueda pasar”.

The new coach also noted that every footballer should recognize what it means to wear the Barcelona shirt. “The shirt must invoke respect and humility,” he declared, “because they owe it to the club, the fans and everyone involved in the club.” He believes footballers must be “aware of the responsibility to represent the team and the city.”
García Pimienta seems to have a clear vision for how he wants the team to be – one that is aware of its place in the game, respectful of the fans, and playing up to its potential. If these values can be instilled in the team then Barcelona B could be a major force in the future.
