El Ayuntamiento de Madrid recuerda a los ciudadanos que, con motivo de la celebración de Nochebuena y Navidad y como en años anteriores, la noche del 24 de diciembre, sábado, y la mañana del 25, domingo, no se realizará la recogida de residuos (ni domésticos ni papel-cartón y vidrio). Por ello, se recomienda a los comerciantes y a los vecinos que no depositen sus residuos en la calle hasta que no se reanude con normalidad el servicio el día 26.

De igual manera, la noche del sábado, 31 de diciembre, y la mañana del 1 de enero, domingo, tampoco habrá recogida de residuos, volviendo el servicio a la normalidad el lunes, 2 de enero. /

With Christmas just around the corner, Santa Fe residents are being urged to plan in advance for their end-of-year waste disposal.

The Santa Fe City Council has announced that its normal rubbish collection services will be disrupted on Christmas Day and Nochebuena (Christmas Eve). As a result, citizens are being asked to ensure that their rubbish is disposed of before December 24.

Commenting on the decision, City Council spokeswoman Ana López said: «There will be no rubbish collection on Nochebuena and Christmas Day, so it’s essential that no waste is put out to be collected on those days. We urge citizens to bear this in mind and plan in advance so that all waste can be collected on their usual day. The rollover date if collection falls on a bank holiday weekend will be Saturday December 28.»

To ensure that refuse is collected in a timely manner and that holiday schedules are respected, the Council has asked residents to place their rubbish in clearly designated areas on their regular collection day.

López said: «We would ask citizens to take responsibility for their waste by making sure it is bagged correctly and in the right place, so our collection teams can do their job quickly and effectively.
