Iberia Plus members, the loyalty program of Iberia, can already accumulate and redeem Avios when traveling to or from any of the 34 Mexican cities that Iberia offers in code-sharing with the Mexican airline Interjet and in connection with their flights between Madrid and Mexico City.
Iberia and Interjet further tighten the relationship they started about three years ago with the signing of a code-sharing agreement that allows to unite the 102 cities Iberia serves in Spain, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia via Mexico City with 34 other Mexican cities, among which are Acapulco, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta or Tijuana.
Iberia Plus is the loyalty program with which the Spanish airline rewards its best customers with flights and exclusive advantages before, during and after the flight. The program has six levels of card: Classic, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Infinite and Infinite Prime, as well as Iberia Plus Kids, aimed at children between two and eleven years. In addition to being able to accumulate and redeem Avios when flying with Iberia, or when they use the services of the other hundred companies associated with the program, which include airlines, hotel chains, car rental companies, cinemas, shops, or when they buy In Iberia Plus Store. Iberia Plus members accumulate Elite Points when flying with Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum, as well as Interjet and oneworld alliance airlines, which allow them to change their card level.
Mexico, strategic market for Iberia
The airline reinforces its commitment to Mexico, one of the most important countries in its network. Iberia has announced that it will operate three additional frequencies a week during the summer months, subject to authorization from the competent authorities, which join its two daily flights between Mexico City and the Spanish capital. In total, Iberia will offer more than 541,000 seats in 2017 on this route Spain, 10.7 percent more than in 2016.
Mexico will also be one of the first countries in which Iberia will launch its new class Premium Tourist. From June, it will be available on flights between Mexico and Spain.
