The bridge is lined up with silver and gold jewelry shops. Near Ponte Vecchio, there is Uffizi Gallery which we can visit. From that gallery, we can see the bridge on the whole, crossing the river. Stepping on the Ponte Vecchio while in Florence is a must. The beauty of the city on the side of the river will give us the Italian atmosphere, which cannot be got from other places. We can choose to get a quite strolling around the bridge at morning. Otherwise, we can explore the bridge and shopping at weekend when we can see some love music from local music. The crowds on the Ponte Vecchio is never low, therefore we should be careful from pickpocket.

The David – Accademia Gallery

Florence was the house of the Renaissance artists, who are very famous around the world. The Accademia Gallery exhibits the most famous sculpture of Michelangelo, one of the four famous Renaissance artists. As holding the most famous sculpture in the world, The David, visiting Accademia Gallery is recommended to use reservation ticket. The line to enter the gallery will take hours; it is not surprising because everybody wants to see the famous sculpture from Michelangelo. Besides seeing The David as the finished work from Michelangelo, we can see several unfinished ones. Other interesting exhibition from the Accademia Gallery is the musical instrument collections.

Pitti Palace

Other building from Renaissance era in Florence is Pitti Palace. This palace is beling to Medici family. The location of this palace is in the south of the Arno River and it is not far from the Ponte Vecchio. The function of the Palace has changed into museum without the name transformation. There are eight galleries on the palace. The main gallery of this palace is Palatine Gallery. We can see many Renaissance paintings from Raphael, Titian, Perugino, and etc in this gallery. The Pitti Palace which is famous the luxury interior of the palace is supported with strong building which designed from the huge stone on the walls. Behind this Pitti Palace, we are offered the beauty of Florence from the natural view.

The Boboli Gardens

Visiting Boboli Gardens after we visit Pitti Palace will rest our eyes from the city and old building views. The garden which designed in English style is good to be visited on the spring when the flowers bloom. When we are in Florence, it seems, we can see Renaissance sculpture in most of the places. The Boboli Gardens is filled with several sculptures as the garden’s ornament.

Piazza della Signoria

Piazza della Signoria is like a town square. The location of this place is near Arnor River and in front of the Palazzo Vecchio. This place has held many important events of people in Florence from politic and history. Then, it is used as the meeting place for political event in Florence until this day. In the middle of the Piazza della Signoria, the Fountain of Neptune is placed with the replica of The David’s Michelangelo. Besides that, we find the sculpture of Perseus with the Head of Medusa. This place can be the place where we take a rest for a while and waiting the lines and the crowds of the Palazzo Vecchio become smaller.
