Madrid, September 7, 2023. The trailer for «No One Will Save You» is now available, a psychological science fiction thriller from 20th Century Studios written and directed by Brian Duffield and starring Kaitlyn Dever. The film will be exclusively available on Disney+ on September 22.
«No One Will Save You» is a psychological science fiction thriller narrated through the eyes of a lonely young woman with a painful past. «I wanted the starting point of the film to be an intimate character study that is suddenly invaded by aliens,» says Duffield. «In fact, the end of the world will not only come for those who are prepared. So the idea that an alien movie suddenly bursts the bubble that our character has spent years building and caring for seemed like a very original way to tell this story.»
Duffield set out to create a character so fascinating that viewers would want to know more about her with or without aliens. But unfortunately, adds Duffield, they appear eight minutes into the start of the film. «I think there is a deeply rooted feeling in all of us that all movies about alien invasions could end up being true since they remain a great unknown in our daily lives. As our world becomes more and more chaotic, we may even wish that there is something smarter than us out there that can help us find a more rational way to live. The aliens in «No One Will Save You» are superior to humans in every respect, which makes Brynn and her surprising resistance somewhat puzzling to them.»
Kaitlyn Dever embodies Brynn, an extraordinary fighter when it comes to confronting her untimely and supernatural intruders. Duffield is convinced that she is one of the best performers of her generation. «We were excited about the idea of Kaitlyn joining us because, like Brynn, who is immersed in a completely new world, Kaitlyn had never made such a radically physical and science fiction film,» says Duffield. «I think the audience will be impressed by Kaitlyn’s imposing presence on the screen, as she uses her loneliness and silence to create a tremendously unique and complex character.»
«No One Will Save You» is Duffield’s second film. The first film he wrote, produced, and directed was «Spontaneous» in 2020, an adaptation of Aaron Starmer’s young adult novel starring Katherine Langford and Charlie Plummer, which received a «Certified Fresh» rating (96%) on Rotten Tomatoes. Duffield recently produced «Vicious Bear,» directed by Elizabeth Banks for Universal, as well as the upcoming film «Borderline,» directed by Jimmy Warden.
«No One Will Save You» from 20th Century Studios is an action-packed confrontation between Brynn and extraterrestrial beings that threaten her future and force her to deal with her past. Written and directed by Brian Duffield, the film features music by composer Joseph Trapanese. Tim White, Trevor White, Allan Mandelbaum, and Duffield are the producers, and Dever and Joshua Throne serve as executive producers. «No One Will Save You» will be exclusively available on Disney+ on September 22.
