El próximo día 5 de enero, los Reyes Magos de Oriente visitarán todos los barrios de Villaverde para saludar a los niños que quieran acercarse a verlos. Así lo ha anunciado la concejala del distrito, Concha Chapa. Así, la cabalgata comenzará a las 17:00 h en Butarque, a la altura de la Instalación Deportiva María de Villota, y finalizará en Villaverde Alto, en el Auditorio Plata y Castañar sobre las 20:30 horas, momento en el que Melchor, Gaspar y Baltasar se dirigirán a los niños del distrito y recogerán sus cartas en mano.
Este año, la cabalgata, que tendrá una longitud de alrededor de seis kilómetros, discurrirá por las siguientes calles: Estefanita, Zafiro, avenida de los Rosales, Concepción de la Oliva, Campos Ibáñez, Pilar Lorengar, Diamante, carretera de Villaverde a Vallecas, Villajoyosa, Ciudadanía, cruce de la Avenida de Andalucía, Bohemios, Manojo de Rosas, Virgen de los Desamparados, Alcocer, avenida Real de Pinto, Arroyo Bueno, Villalonso y paseo Plata y Castañar. El recorrido ha sido consensuado entre la junta del distrito y una veintena de entidades vecinales que han querido colaborar en su organización. Concha Chapa ha agradecido a todas ellas “su implicación a la hora de ofrecer soluciones y proponer alternativas” para conseguir que todos los barrios de Villaverde vivieran la llegada de los Magos de Oriente.
Visita previa a San Cristóbal y Marconi
Antes de recorrer el distrito en la cabalgata, los Reyes Magos visitarán los barrios de San Cristóbal de los Ángeles y Colonia Marconi para que todos los niños de Villaverde puedan vivir la ilusión de ese día.
Así, desde las 10:30 horas, el campo de fútbol de San Cristóbal de los Ángeles será escenario de la Gran Fiesta de los Reyes Magos, en la que habrá talleres de manualidades, pintacaras, juegos musicales y participativos, entre otras actividades. Una hora después, a las 11.30 horas, los Magos de Oriente llegarán hasta el campo de fútbol para recibir a los niños de San Cristóbal de los Ángeles, quienes podrán hablar con ellos y entregarles personalmente las cartas que hayan escrito. La mañana acabará con un espectáculo musical.
Posteriormente, Sus majestades visitarán, a las 15.30 h, el Centro Sociocultural Marconi para saludar a los niños de la colonia. A continuación, la Junta Municipal de Villaverde ha organizado una actividad de ocio infantil y familiar para todos los asistentes. /
On January 5th, children in the borough of Villaverde, Madrid, Spain will experience an unforgettable event. The Three Wise Men, otherwise known as the Reyes Magos, will be making their rounds visiting all the neighborhoods in Villaverde.
The Reyes Magos will do what they do best and follow traditional Spanish customs, carrying their bags of Christmas gifts, and followed by the classic Caga Tio log. The Three Kings will start their journey in the early morning, making stops in every neighborhood to greet their fans and spread their message of hope and faith. People gather together on the streets of the borough for this cherished Spanish tradition to show their love for the magi and their camels.
The streets are alight with music and joy, which are a joy to behold. No matter how young or old, all children fill the air with their cheerful cries of joy as soon as they catch a glimpse of the Magi, who greet them with candy, cookies, and other treats.
The celebration doesn’t end there though! Every night, a parade of floats led by the Reyes Magos is accompanied by music and goes around the borough. During the processions, the magi throw candy and coins to the children as they make their way through the streets of Villaverde.
