El 29 de diciembre se celebra el VII Torneo Fran Raya organizado por el club convenido la UD Las Huesas en el Campo Las Huesas.

Las Palmas D se enfrentará a partir de las 18:00 horas, en formato triangular, a la UD Las Huesas y la UD villa Santa Brígida.

Los clubes convenidos cuentan en su estructura con un equipo compuesto por jugadores que se encuentran dentro del programa de integración social con el proyecto UP2U, en colaboración con el Gobierno de Canarias.

Las Palmas D, a former basketball team from the Spanish region of Las Palmas, recently took part in the VII Fran Raya Tournament, the biggest basketball tournament in the area.

The team, made up of local players, began the tournament full of ambition and hope. Due to extensive preparation and hard work, they were able to secure places in the final stages of the tournament, eventually succeeding and reaching the semi-final match.

Las Palmas D displayed tenacious defense and aggressive but smart plays, making them one of the contenders fighting for a place in the finals. Unfortunately, they eventually bowed out in the semi-finals, narrowly missing out on a place in the decisive match.

The members of Las Palmas D showed great discipline and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, even in defeat, displaying positively the great ethos of their team. After the tournament, the coach expressed his pride in the performance of the whole squad, picking out special praise for those who worked hard and made the greatest contribution to their achievements.

The Fran Raya Tournament is the biggest regional tournament around, and Las Palmas D have shown that they have what it takes to compete with the best. This will give them a valuable experience going forwards and a great source of pride, something which will surely serve them well in the future.
